Members of the Richmond Region marched in the 2024 Virginia March for Life held on February 21st on the grounds of the state capitol. The march was preceded by excellent speeches and statements defending life, led by Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears and followed by pro-life leaders in the Virginia Assembly and the national and Virginia right-to-life movements.
The presentations concluded with comments by Bishop Michael F. Burbridge of the Arlington Diocese, chair of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Pro-Life Activities; and by Bishop Barry C. Knestout of the Diocese of Richmond, chair of the USCCB Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People. Well over 3,000 pro-life supporters attended, coming from multi-denominational backgrounds, and including young adults from many Catholic high schools across the state. The large group proceeded to march around Capitol Square and through the nearby city center, accompanied by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a staunch pro-life governor.
The members of the Order were pleased to march with the flag of the Order and to stand in the defense of life.
