Oklahoma City Hosts Defense of Faith Event

At the Oklahoma City Region’s inaugural Defense of the Faith event last month, participants packed the room to hear a talk by Catholic journalist and author George Weigel on "Understanding This Catholic Moment."
The evening began with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and a book signing for Mr. Weigel's latest, "To Sanctify the World: The Vital Legacy of Vatican II." Attendees also received a copy of "Essential Prayers for Children," a brand-new product of the region's efforts to defend the faith.
The presentation began with an introduction and opening prayer by Archbishop Paul S. Coakley of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, a conventual chaplain ad honorem of the Order.
