Gospel of Life and Family Proclaimed in Delaware Valley
Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia and Msgr. Pierangelo Sequeri presented their thoughts on “How the Pope wants Us to Preach The Gospel of Life and the Gospel of the Family” at a seminar held on The Patio at Archmere Academy, Claymont, DE., thanks to the kindness of Dana Robinson, KM (of the Wilmington region) who was responsible for arranging their visit and the invitation to Malta Members. Archmere Academy was the home of John J. Raskob, Dana’s grandfather. Dana and his family have been in involved in Catholic philanthropy in the U.S. and internationally for three generations.
Archbishop Paglia is the president of the Pontifical Academy for Life and Grand Chancellor of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family. Msgr. Sequeri is the president of the JPII Institute. They both discussed the mission of the Pontifical Council in providing academic formation and studying questions related to marriage, the family and life in the service of the Holy See. James Crowley, KM (of the American Association), fluent in Italian, was an expert interpreter for the audience throughout the evening.
A collection of Pope Francis’s weekly addresses at St. Peter’s over a five-month period was available for those who attended. Each chapter deals with a different issue relating to the family. For example, the one on grandparents and children, and is very enriching. Additional copies are still available. If anyone would like a copy, please contact Dana Robinson.
