Thanksgiving Message to the Order

Dear Knights and Dames,
Since George Washington proclaimed our national Thanksgiving more than 200 years ago, Americans have gathered with families and friends to express gratitude. George Washington expressed thanksgiving to God everyday as the following excerpt from his hand-written book of daily prayers indicates:
"Bless the people of this land,
Be a father to the fatherless, a comforter to the comfortless,
a deliver to the captives and a physician to the sick.
Let Thy blessings be upon friends, kindred and families.
Be our guide this day and forever through Jesus Christ"
