The Philadelphia Region, joined by members of the Wilmington Region and the American Association, participated for the third straight year in Catholic Social Services and St. John’s Hospice Annual Boot Up Philly.
As a foundational partner of Boot Up, the Philadelphia Region has consistently increased its support since the event’s inception in 2021. This year, region members raised enough money to fund the purchase of nearly 800 coats from the Blessed Are They - Coats for The Homeless project, which is sponsored by our friends in the Oklahoma City Region. During the November 4th event at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center, members distributed coats and other cold-weather gear to more than 700 of our most vulnerable sisters and brothers in Center City Philadelphia.
In addition to Boot Up Philly, the Philadelphia Region has collaborated with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on other outreach programs over the past several years. These include emergency food distribution services at Martha’s Choice Marketplace and the archdiocese’s Joint Prison Ministry Committee. Members of the region have also served the archdiocese in various board membership and advisory roles.
