Mother of Mercy
Mother of Mercy, pray for me
Though I but a humble pilgrim be
Bearing my crosses, burdens and woe
Mother of Hope to you I throw
The deepest intentions held close to my heart
Walking in Lourdes with my Malade in the cart.
To Lourdes we come, pilgrims all
In life's dark night, to Mary we call
On our knees in the grotto in Bernadette's stead
We discover the stream Divine Mercy fed
Into the arms of Mother Mary
We offer our pains too heavy to carry.
Mother of Mercy, intercede
For all of us on bended knee
We trust in you our heart's petition
Beseech for us your Son to listen
To the cry of his people
Rising in Aves from the heavenward steeple.
"They have no wine," you said at Cana
Then trustingly waited, gratia plena
"Do whatever He tells you" was the direction you gave
Ensuring a young couple's face to save
Mother Mary, calm our fear
And help us to realize Jesus is near.
Bernadette, Bernadette, what did you know
When you knelt in the grotto so long ago
Into the cold earth you dug your hand
In order to follow Mary's command
From barren ground did water flow
With abundant graces on us to bestow.
Like water from Christ's pierced side,
Dear Savior come in us abide
Wash our souls and those we love
With your blessings from above
Heal us in body, mind and soul
And help us to reach our heavenly goal.
The Lourdes' bells ring for all to hear
Our Mother Mary did appear
In the stone at Massabielle
A sign for both the sick and well
That God's great love doth us embrace
And comes to us through Mary's face.
