Columbus Region Day of Recollection and Investiture

In March, a Day of Recollection was held in Columbus, featuring talks by Daniel Gullo of the Malta Study Center at the Hill Museum and Manuscript Library at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. In lectures held at St. Joseph Cathedral in Columbus, Dr. Gullo discussed the spirituality of the Order within the context of its founding times, and how the Order has stayed true to its charism through the centuries as times and societies have changed.

Also, on the evening of March 18, Bishop Earl K. Fernandes of the Diocese of Columbus was invested into the Order of Malta at the Vigil Mass for Laetare Sunday in the bishop's private chapel. Over 50 attended the Mass, including members of the Columbus Region, a few members of the American Association from Cincinnati, where the bishop came from, and guests.
