Milwaukee Becomes the 28 Region of the Federal Association
Gerard Randall, KM, was invested as the first Hospitaller of the newly approved Milwaukee Region last November 3.
A new ceremony, “Installation of a Hospitaller”, celebrated during the Mass for Deceased Members of the Order, was used for the first time with Knights, Dames, and their families and friends present for the joyous occasion. The Very Rev. Timothy Kitze, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and Associate Chaplin of the Order, was the celebrant at the Mass held at Old St. Mary Church in downtown Milwaukee. A festive reception and dinner followed at the historic Milwaukee Club.
Our region currently has 14 Members, with three more to be Invested this year, as well as several applications pending approval for formation.
Our main service project is providing hospitality and dinner at the Cathedral Center, an emergency homeless shelter for women and families in downtown Milwaukee that works to end homelessness one life at a time. Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Edward Listecki has suggested several other projects for our new region to consider taking on.
We look forward to maintaining our ties with the Chicago Region. In addition, Bishop David L. Ricken of Green Bay, has invited us to encourage membership in his diocese, which is home to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, where the Order has recently begun leading summer pilgrimages.
