Lourdes 2021 Virtual Pilgrimage Experience
Our desire in this year devoid of a pilgrimage is to remind ourselves of the importance of the Lourdes pilgrimage to our charism, and facilitate reflection and discussion on that topic.
We believe that this annual event is foundational to who we are as Dames and Knights of the Order. This pilgrimage facilitates the living of our charism. Through the pilgrimage we put the words of the Daily Prayer of the Order into action. We are reminded of our Order’s beginnings, of Blessed Fra’ Gerard and of the hospitaller nature of our work as we tend to weary pilgrims. We practice charity towards our neighbors, especially the poor and the sick. We are given the strength we need carry out the work, forgetful of ourselves, as we pour ourselves out in service of our beloved malades.
