The Kansas City Chapter of the Order of Malta brought Dr. Peter Kreeft to town as our first guest speaker in our Defense of the Faith Lecture Series, which was chaired by Dr. Paul Camarata.  Dr. Kreeft, a professor of philosophy at Boston College for over 50 years, and author of more than 75 books, is widely recognized as one of the great Catholic writers of our time.

The Kansas City chapter co-sponsored the event on November 6 with the Thomas More Center for Catholic Studies at Rockhurst University in KC. Dr. Kreeft spoke on "The Role of Reason and of the Heart in Faith" before an audience of more than 500 people, followed by a two-hour reception and conversation with an enthusiastic group of theology and philosophy students.

The next day, the Kansas City chapter co-sponsored a second lecture with Benedictine College in Atchison, KS, with Dr. Kreeft speaking this time on "The Existence of God-C.S. Lewis Argument from Desire." More than 200 guests attended the lecture, which was followed by Dr. Kreeft’s informal visit with a number of students at the college.
