Atlanta Region Hosts “Life is Beautiful” Gala
On February 22, the Atlanta Region sponsored the seventh “Life is Beautiful” gala to benefit the Pregnancy Aid Clinic. The region has raised approximately $600,000 through these events over the years to enhance the opportunities for women to choose life for their unborn children.
Kimberly Hanna and Mary Savarese served as the co-chairs of the gala committee. Joining Atlanta hospitaller Lynn Mullaney, and chaplain of the Order, Msgr. Edward Dillon, at this year’s gala, were Federal Association Executive Director Deacon Michael Stankewicz and President Margaret Melady DM, and many generous friends of the clinic’s mission. Representing the Pregnancy Aid Clinic were Executive Director Marla Brown, former President Julie Ostrowoski, current Board President William Llop, Director of Development Diane Duquette, and clinic board members.
The Pregnancy Aid Clinic serves the metro Atlanta area in three locations: a clinic in Forest Park, another in Roswell, and a mobile unit that roves throughout the city. This 29-foot traveling unit, made possible through funds raised at these Malta galas, was on site that night and available for tours.
Following dinner, the 160 guests viewed a specially prepared video featuring testimonials from staff of the Pregnancy Aid Clinic, as well as young women and men who made the decision to choose life. David Hanna KM, served as master of ceremonies, encouraging guests to participate in a wine and spirits raffle and a variety of opportunities to sponsor clinic programs. Students from Holy Spirit School’s Pro Life Club and House Leadership were on hand to accept donations throughout the fun filled evening.
The gala fulfills the main focus of the Order, which is to “care for the sick and the poor and defend the faith.” Anyone wishing to learn more about the Pregnancy Aid Clinic, or make a donation, may refer to their website at http://www.pregnancyaidclinic.org.
